Terms of Service
Last updated: March 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using SnipTools (sniptools.dev), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the site. We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of SnipTools after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Description of service
SnipTools provides a collection of free, browser-based developer utilities including but not limited to JSON formatting, JWT decoding, Base64 encoding, regex testing, hash generation, and other tools commonly used in software development. All tools run entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. No data you enter into the tools is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
The service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without prior notice.
3. Use of the service
You may use SnipTools for any lawful purpose, whether personal, educational, or commercial. You agree not to:
- • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the proper functioning of the site.
- • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the site in a manner that places excessive load on our infrastructure.
- • Attempt to bypass any security measures or access controls on the site.
- • Use the site for any activity that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
4. Disclaimer of warranties
SnipTools is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the results produced by any tool will be accurate or reliable.
While we strive to ensure the correctness of our tools, you acknowledge that software utilities may contain bugs or produce unexpected results in edge cases. You are solely responsible for verifying the output of any tool before using it in production systems, security-sensitive contexts, or any environment where incorrect results could cause harm.
We specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
5. Tool accuracy and reliability
The developer tools provided on SnipTools are intended as convenience utilities. They are not a substitute for professional-grade, tested software libraries in production environments. Specifically:
- • Cryptographic tools (hash generators, JWT tools) are provided for development, debugging, and educational purposes. Do not rely on them for production security.
- • Formatting and conversion tools (JSON, SQL, YAML, etc.) make a best effort to handle standard inputs but may not cover every edge case or non-standard syntax.
- • Output from any tool should be reviewed and validated before being used in critical systems.
6. Intellectual property
The SnipTools name, logo, site design, and original source code are the property of SnipTools and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the site's design or code without explicit permission.
The output generated by SnipTools tools (formatted JSON, decoded tokens, generated hashes, etc.) belongs to you. We claim no ownership or rights over any data you process through our tools.
7. User responsibilities
You are responsible for the data you choose to process using SnipTools. While all processing occurs locally in your browser and no data is sent to our servers, you should exercise appropriate caution when handling sensitive information such as production API keys, passwords, or personally identifiable information — even in a client-side context.
You are responsible for ensuring that your use of SnipTools complies with any applicable organizational policies, regulations, or contractual obligations that govern how you handle data.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SnipTools and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service — whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you have paid to use the service, which is zero dollars ($0) as SnipTools is a free service.
9. Third-party content and advertising
SnipTools may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These advertisements are governed by the respective third party's terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party advertisers.
The site may also contain links to external websites and resources. These links are provided for convenience and do not constitute an endorsement. We are not responsible for the content or availability of linked external sites.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to SnipTools for any user or group of users at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to the service, other users, or third parties.
11. Governing law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of SnipTools shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
